How to play Jigsaw sudoku
Jigsaw sudoku, also called irregular sudoku, keeps the rows and columns but replaces the nine square boxes with nine odd shapes.
Boxes become shapes.
The rules
- Rows and columns hold 1 to 9 once each.
- The thick-edged shapes replace the 3×3 boxes. Each shape holds 1 to 9 once.
Where to start
- Where a shape pokes into a row, it can force where that row's digits go.
- Every row and every shape adds up to 45, so when a few rows together almost match a set of whole shapes, the cells sticking out must balance the cells left over.
