How to play Hyper sudoku
Hyper sudoku, also called Windoku, shades four extra 3×3 areas that overlap the normal boxes, like the panes of a window.
Four extra boxes.
The rules
- Classic rules apply: every row, column and 3×3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 once each.
- The four shaded 3×3 areas also hold 1 to 9 once each.
Where to start
- Cells where a shaded area overlaps a normal box are heavily constrained. Look there first.
- The cells left between the shaded areas form hidden groups that also hold 1 to 9. For example, rows 1, 5 and 9 across columns 2 to 4 hold each digit once.
